THE consolidated 1980 turnover of the Renault Group (including Renault Vehicules lndustriels) will be more than 80,000m Francs (about £17,000m) representing an increase of 17 per cent over 1979.
The turnover of Aegie Renault (cars, light vans and agricultural tractors) for 1980 totalled 50,000m Francs (£4,400m).
Again in 1980, RVI produced 54,000 vehicles — lorries, buses and coaches — which was an increase of 18 per cent over the previous year.
More than 43 per cent of this production went for export with over 2,000 chassis going to North America as part of the Mack involvement.
Renault claims that this export performance represents a 25.4 per cent increase compared with last year.
