Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

large "J" followed by a number. Could .vou say for what these are ntended?

These are experimental markings and denote the proximity of a junction from which other traffic is merging. 'hey have been sited at junctions 4 (Elstree) and 14 (Newport Pagnell); the kumber denotes the number of the junction. The "J" signs on the arriageway coincide with the advance warning signs on the verge at onenile and at half-mile distances from the junction, and also with the merge" signs 200yd and 100yd from the junction. There are other narkings on the carriageway at exit roads from Scratchwood, -oddington and Newport P agnell. They are intended as assistance during periods of poor visibility, particularly fog.
