• Daimler Transport Vehicles Ltd, has announced bus chassis orders to a value of over £500,000. The largest individual order comes from the Belfast Corporation transport department, who have placed an order for 80 Daimler Fleetline 18ft. 6in.-wheelbase, rearengined buses with Gardner 6LX 10.45-litre diesel power units. Thirty of these vehicles will be single-deckers of approximately 36ft. overall length; the other 50 will be 33-ft. doubledeckers. All will be for one-man operation.
