Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An offer to acquire the whole of the issued share capital of A. C. Jameson (Transport) Ltd. and its associated companies J. Lord (Station Garage) Rishton Ltd., and Jameson (Europa) Ltd., made by United Freight Holdings Ltd., a subsidiary of United Transport Co. Ltd., was accepted with effect from Tuesday of this week. Mr. A. C. Jameson will continue as director and general manager of the Jameson group whose activities are concerned with freight services throughout the UK arid the Continent. The company's headquarters are at Heywood, Lancashire, with depots at Southampton, London and Le Havre.

Jameson operates about 35 vehicles on general haulage and a spokesman for the United Transport group told CM this week that its operations fitted into the pattern of general haulage already represented by the purchase of J. and A.. Smith of Maddiston Ltd. and Eurotransport Ltd. There would be no integration of the three companies but close interworking both on general goods and container carriage.
