• There have recently been reports that talks were going on between Tecalemit and Dennis Bros. Ltd. -which could lead to a merger". No further information on the plans of the two concerns is obtainable for publication, writes Tony Wilding, but it appears obvious that one of the main results of a merger could be the amalgamation of the fire engine production of Dennis with that of Merryweather, a subsidiary of Tecalemit. This is the only common interest of the two concerns and there will be definite advantages in respect of overseas marketing; Dennis builds the majority of its fire-appliance bodies on chassis of its own make while Merryweather makes bodies only which are applied to various makes of vehicle.
