GRANTING an application to add three bulk transport tippers to an existing A licence for 14, the Scottish deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. A. B. Birnie, said he could not stand in the way of progress. "It was up to hauliers to provide the best service, or be left behind in the race ", be added.
The applicant was Charles W. Michie Ltd., of Aberdeen, whose normal user was: Goods applicable to tippers, being mainly shipborne goods, agricultural produce and requisites, minerals, combustible materials, chemicals, road and building and excavated materials and plant; 80 per cent within 60 miles, 20 per cent within Scotland.
