Very Reasonable,'
WHEN Bradford Corporation were VV granted increases at Leeds, on Monday, Maj. F. S. Eastwood, chairman of the Yorkshire Commissioners said: "It is a very reasonable application." The corporation had asked for Id. increases on stages between the 6th and 20th, with no alteration to short-distance fares.
Mr. C. T. Humpidge, general manager, said about £1,000 a week was being lost through falling traffic. He estimated that 5m. passengers had been lost in the past few months. The fare increases would hring.in about £30,000 a year.
FIRST TOWN BUS SERVICE?
THE first town service for Penrith, Cumberland, will be operated by Hartness' Bus and Coach Services if the Northern Traffic Commissioners grant the company's application. Penrith Urban district Council are supporting the proposals, which would give the town an hourly service.
Mr. Ernest Hartness told the council last week that he would use lightweight 26-seat or 30-seat buses on the route. Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., run services into and out of the town:

Mr. Hampson, who was 56, was chief buyer of Leyland Motors, Ltd. He joined the company in 1929.
Mr. Cameron was manager of • Northampton Transport Department from 1915 until he retired in 1945. Aged 74. he had been living in retirement at Eastbourne.
Mr. Bishop was formerly for many years publicity manager of J. I. Thornycroft and Co., Ltd.
