Scammell Bath-carrying Semis : Eleven Scammell 12-ton, 26-ft-long, fifth-wheelcoupling, semi-trailers ordered by distributors Spurling Motor Bodies Ltd. are now in service with Allied Ironfounders Ltd. They are being operated from their Greenford works with Leyland tractive units to distribute baths throughout GB. Each unit is fitted with additional raves so that the baths can " sit " securely on the floor and 120 baths can be carried.
Chile Buys from BMC: Despite intense competition from German, Swiss, French and American firms, Mauricio Hochschild, Austin commercial vehicle distributors for Chile, have secured an order for eight new forward-control Austin/Yorkshire Patent Steam Wagon Co. Ltd. cesspool emptiers from the Chilean Government. The 800 gal.capacity cesspool empties are based on 10 ft. wheelbase, 5 ton Austin FF K100 chassis/cabs.
Quinton }laza Expansion: Quinton Hazen Ltd., manufacturers of vehicle replacement parts, is building a new warehouse at the company's distribution centre for the West Country at Bristol. This will be a two-storey building in Hotwell Road.
