" ROAD haulage is closely allied to warehousing and we are hopeful that the enlargement of our operations in this sphere will open up new possi-bilities for the utiliZation of warehouse facilities." This statement was made by Mr. W. Milligan, chairman of the Liverpool Warehousing Co., Ltd., in his annual report.
At present, the company owned 57 vehicles and it was the intention to acquire more. The basic business of the company—warehousing—was vulnerable to happenings outside their control, and for this reason the directors were anxious to promote subsidiary activities.
Vehicles engaged in carrying exports to the docks occasionally met serious delays. The company could be of help by providing temporary warehouse accommodation for exports, stated Mr. Milligan.
