THE trade unions' claim for better pay for drivers of A and B licence vehicles is to be considered by the National Joint Industrial Council next Tuesday. The counciL is a voluntary body comprising representatives of workers and employees drawn from the panels of the statutory Road Haulage Wages Council.

The last time it met was on April 22, 1953, under the chairmanship of Mr. .1. Hill, a workers' representative, it is not yet known who will be the chairman next Tuesday. The name of Mr. Frank Cousins has been given erroneously in this connection. He and Mr, E. W. Russell, of the Road Haulage Association, are joint secretaries,
