DRIVERS' HOURS offences and using a vehicle without an 0-licence have cost Burbage, Leicestershire-based BH Express and one of its directors, Benjamin Hunt, a total of £2,800 in fines and costs.

They failed to appear before the Harlow magistrates and the case against them was proved in their absence. BH Express was fined I ,000 with £250 costs. for having no 0-licence; Hunt was-fined a total of £1,300, with £250 costs for live offences of exceeding 41/2 hours' driving without the required breaks and one offence of exceeding 10 hours' driving.

Prosecuting for Vosa, Anthony Ostrin told the court that a vehicle belonging to the company and driven by Hum had been stopped at a roadside check. A traffic examiner noted that the vehicle, which was carrying wine, had no 0-licence identity disc displayed.
