ASTHE BOSS of a driver-hire company and a training provider I'm in a position to supply free training to certain companies through the Safed Aggregates scheme, We've achieved excellent results for a number of operations.

However, there's a situation I find most strange in this day and age of modern transport. Just yesterday, for the umpteenth time in three years. someone I spoke to was yen; disrespectful.

Upon my explaining what we are about, he said:F**k off. We don't do training here, we don't need to save money and we don't like f**kers like you calling up."

This came from a so-called respectable local company! I think that he and his operation is going nowhere quickly. But believe it or not that reaction is. sadly, fairly common. Dear reader, please take the time to think about what you do, how you treat people and where your operation can make savings.

It isn't for me to preach to you about these things, but I can honestly say that after 30 years in the industry ifs no wonder that we're in the sad and sorry state that we have today.
