• The Transport and Gem Workers' Union in the West Midlands intends to campaii for Birmingham's orbital rel road — the Northern relief to be non-toll and to come stream as soon as possible, says TGWU Midlands' orga er Dennis Mills.
"The plans to toll that ro are absolute nonsense," sa■ Mills. "West Midlands indu: and road hauliers need that road, and it has already be paid for by taxpayers. To n it a toll road is nothing mor than robbery by stealth."
