• Mike Egar, 31, becomes national service manager for FKI Transervice. Egar will have overall responsibility for the national network of more than 180 engineers and will be based in Halifax. He was previously service manager with British Gas and operations manager for Dixons service and distribution.
• Jill Cottee, formerly with the business strategy department at ICI Agrochemicals, becomes marketing analyst at Sikkens paint manufacturer Akzo, following the promotion of Colin Denman to bodyshop market manager. • Doug Harrison becomes marketing manager of Tridon Serflex, which will become Octone from 1 October. Harrison has 12 years experience in the aftermarket, including five with Tridon up to 1988. Paul Towers, who joined in 1979, is now customer liaison supervisor. Val Meaden, who joined recently from Autobar, is phone sales supervisor • Former exhaust fitting shop manager Malcolm Rymer, 34, joins Bainbridge Silencers as sales rep for the West Mids, succeeding Phil Paterson, now training officer. Paul Pickering, 30, joins the company from the tyre trade, to provide backup support at the Sheffield "super depot".
• Bernard Grant joins Dacia Concessionaires as national parts manager. Grant previously worked for Heron International.
• Peter Hill has retired as managing director of SykesPickavant, but remains a director and is also being retained as a consultant.
