Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A DEVICE which could help prevent motorway pile-ups at night and in fog could be available for around E15.

The "black box" unit can switch on all the rear lights on a vehicle, brake lights; tail lights and indicators — at once and set them to flash in sequence. This would illuminate the rear of any vehicle in the event of an accident, and can be switched on by the driver.

The unit could also substitute for a failed brake light or indicator bulb or any other light at the rear of the vehicle. For instance, a faulty indicator could be replaced by a flashing tail light.

The unit was invented by a Northampton auto-electrician and is to be marketed by London Mechanical Handling of Daventry, Northants.
