IF you have a spare car (or any other kind of vehicle) lumbering up the place, don't give it to the Boy Scouts jumble sale. Sepd it to British Car Auctions to be sold for the benefit of the Cancer Research Campaign.

More than 50 vehicles, including such distinguished makes as Daimler, Lancia, and Bristol, have already been offered. One came from a retired farm labourer who was too old to drive. Another was given by a diplomat returning to the British embassy in Khartoum. A four-berth cabin cruiser is also to be auctioned for the fund.

A grand charity auction sale at BCA's Measham branch on September 15 will include a solid-silver salver engraved with the signatures of the racing drivers associated with Gunnar Nilsson, a tragic victim of the disease. Maj-Gen John Badcock, chief appeals officer of the Cancer Research Campaign, suggests that companies selling fleet cars might offer them with a reserve price over which the proceeds would go to cancer research.
