E'OLLOWING recent agreement in the J. Sand and Gravel Industry, drivers of C licence vehicles under 14 tons gross are to receive wage rates of 4s. Sid. per hour in Class I areas end 4s. 71d. in Class 2 areas. Corresponding rates over 14 tons arc 4s. 10(1. and 4s. 9d.
Amendment of Clause 9 of the Corn Trade Transport Agreement provides for the definition of overtime working in excess of 42 hours per week or 84 hours per fortnight as applied to either six-day or five-day workers. It is recommended that two suits of overalls be issued free each year, subject . to three months' approved service.
Ernp;oyees covered by the Building Trade Transport Agreement had their basic wage rates increased by 3s. 8d. per week from August 20.
