A LARGE-SCALE United Kingdom .1-1 expansion project, including a new factory in North-east England, is planned by the Perkins Group,
A Perkins spokesman stated: "This expansion is in line with the company's policy of keeping Perkins competitive by producing new engine types.
"Part of the expansion will take place at Peterborough where it will create more jobs, and Perkins has also agreed to assist the Government in its efforts to bring work to areas with declining industry.
"For this reason, another part of the expansion will take place in North-east England.
A new factory is to be built at Spennymoor, Co. Durham, alongside the Great North Road at Thinford cross roads."
