using long-distance buses for short journeys into the city centre will have their fares cut by Id. The system which has been in operation since 1930, whereby those travelling on long distance buses on routes served by trolleys and short-distance motor buses are charged an extra ld., has now outlived its usefulness, says a joint statement from the corporation and the East Yorkshire Motor Services. However, the extra Id. will still be paid on buses travelling out of the city.
