Eastwood, chairman of the Yorkshire Traffic Commissioners, said: "This looks' like shutting the stable door after the horse has gone. We cannot expect the company to wait. for an improvement in the service." The application would be granted for one year, the chairman added. '

The application was from James Johnson, of Ruffield Side, Delph Hill, Wyke, for a stage licence to run from Bradford to Brighouse; for the employees of George Turner, Ltd., Albion Mills..He said he had already been running the service under a short-term licence, but sought. a full licence. The company had approached him to run the service. One single-decker would be used and 5s. each week deducted from the men's wages by the employers, who would pay for the service, meeting part of the cost themselves.

Mr. K. H. Hargreaves said Bradford Corporation objected on the ground that the existing service was adequate and that an additional service would be unneces sary and undesirable. He. said the .Huddersfield Joint _OmnibusCommittee and •Hehble Motor ,Services, Ltd.; wished to he associged with-the objection, which he was;:presenting on behalf of all the companies concerned.
