cancel the transport levy, Wolverhampton area committee of the Traders' Road Transport Association decided last week. Mr. C. A. Betteley, chairman, said that as British Road Services were being allowed to keep a large number of vehideg and because a profit had been made on sales, there was no need for the levy, which had so far raised about £7m.
LORRIES TOUR CONTINENT
A FLEET of lorries equipped as a
demonstration unit has been sent to France, Belgium and Holland by Lansing Bagnall, Ltd., Kingsclere Road, Basingstoke. Hants. One of the vehicles; a Thornycroft, has a tailboard elevator to allow quick loading and unloading of the trucks which are carried on the platform.
