ON Thursday of last week, a party, .-o/comprised, in the main, of members of the managers' section of the Municipal Tramways and Transport Association, paid a visit to the works of the Brush Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd., of Loughborough. The tour of inspection was preceded by n luncheon, at which Mr. H. E. Midgley, the director having the longest service, frankly admitted that, until recently, the affairs of the company had not been entirety satisfactory, but that now, with the acquiring of new finance and the reconstruction of the Board, a happy future was assured. As evidence of this, Mr. Midgley revealed the fact that orders for 100 bus and trolleybus bodies had been .received sfnce the end of June last, in
addition to a considerable increase in business in other departments.
An important aspect of the future activities of the company, he said, rested in the recent acquisitions of the old-established. oil-engine business of Petters, Ltd., Yeovil, and within the next three months £150,000 is to be expended. The tour of the works provided evidence of the increased activity in the various departments, particularly in the bodybuilding sections, where we saw orders going through for Derby and Coventry Corporations, the Midland "
Red" and the Ribble Motor Co., Ltd.
There is no doubt that the company, which has always been held in high esteem for the quality of its products, is making a speedy return to prosperity,
