GHV: the results
THE TRANSPORT and Road Research Laboratory has evaluated the data collected from the Oxfordshire haulage contractor, F. C. Bennett and Sons, who operated-the Foden Quiet Heavy Vehicle (QHV) over a two-year period.
The OHV, a modified Fleetmaster 510 with a Rolls Royce 320bhp engine, was worked normally for this class of vehicle and fuel consumption was broadly similar to an un modified articulated vehicle of that type.
