• Rapsons Coaches of Alness, Scotland has taken delivery of three new Volvo-bodied coaches, including a Van Hool Alizee super-high-bodied BIOM GL. The specification for the 46-seater includes reclining seats, floor-mounted washroom/toilet at the nearside rear, and a servery. The other two Volvos have Plaxton Paramount 3500 Mark 111 bodies.
Shoppa Hoppas
• Three Shoppa Hoppa circular routes are starting up in Kingston, subsidised by the borough council by up to £100,000. Westlink will run the "hail and ride" services, which start this Saturday under contract to London Regional Transport.
The services will be reviewed after six months and, if successful, the council plans further services on similar lines.
Bristol base
• Ex-NBC company Wessex of Bristol, which was the subject of a management buyout last July, is moving out of the rented Bristol City Line depot in Lawrence Hill to new premises in Sussex Street.
