BCC goes to Europe with ABTA

THE BUS and Coach Council has lodged a formal cornplaint with the EEC's competition division, alleging restrictive trade practices by the Association of British Travel Agents in controlling the sale of non-members' holidays through its members' travel agencies.
The complaint over ABTA's Stabiliser bonding requirement has been brought under Articles 85 and 86 of the Treaty of Rome. and 6)1lows ABTA moves to restrict the sale of BCC members' coach holidays bonded by BCC, unless they also become ABTA members.
