MR. K. A. APPLE-TON has succeeded the late MR. K. J. SPENCER as manager of the Liverpool depot of Ferodo, Ltd. MR. A. H. COLT.INSON, formerly competitions manager, succeeds Mr. Appleton as manager of the sales (replacements) department. The new competitions manager is MR. R. SYDNEY HENSON.

MR. GEOFFREY JANES has been appointed manager of the inspection department of F. Perkins, Ltd., a new post under the control of the general manager of the manufacturing division. The position of chief inspector will cease to operate, and MR. G. BIRD, who previously held the appointment, will be responsible to Mr. Janes for outside supplier contacts.

VEHICLE FOR URGENT REPAIRS

A VEHICLE required for the carriage fl of steel rollers for urgent repair, to prevent long hold-ups in textile mats, was added to the A licence of the Smallshaw Transport Co., Ash ton-underLyne, by the North Western Deputy Licensing Authority last week.

Mr. J. A, Dunkerley, for the applicants, said that their one existing A-licence vehicle was unable to meet urgent demands. They would be prepared to have as the normal user "mainly within 30 miles of base."

For British Railways it was agreed that there was ground for a grant if the normal user was restricted.

OBITUARY

WEregret to record the death of MR. C. A. PRICE. Mr. Price was the south-western regional manager of A.C.V. Sales, Ltd. He joined the Associated Equipment Co. at Walthamstow in 1913.
