AN indication that the City ,Coach Co., Ltd., Brentwood, one of the few remaining independents to operate a stage-carriage service through the territory of the London Transport Executive is to be acquired by the British Transport Commission, is given in the latest edition of "Notices and Proceedings" of the Metropolitan Licensing Authority.

Westeliff-on-Sea Motor Services-.. Ltd., hgs applied to take over the services operated by the City concern, including the Wood Green-Southend route.

A spokesman of the Road Passenger Executive stated earlier this week, however, that this application "may be a little premature."

The City Coach Co., Ltd., was formed in 1936 to continue to run the London-Southend service and its associated feeders, after the London routes of the company had been taken over by the London Passenger Transport Board.
