Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

for the Sheffield Fire Brigade Dt:RING the past few months, the equipment of many fire brigades has been increased by the addition of Dennis Ace 350-450-gallon pumps, or first-aid appliances incorporating the same pattern of chassis. Of the latter type is the machine shown in tha accompanying illustration.

The latest addition to the numerous Dennis fire engines already supplied -to Sheffield, it forms a fully equipped rescue tender, with first-aid pump. At the rear is a drawbar for attaching the Dennis trailer pump owned by the brigade.

The driver's compartment, also arranged to seat an officer, contains, on the bulkhead, a large switchboard carrying ampere and voltage meters, four plug sockets, fuses and the necessary switches for supplying 110-volt current to floodlights, electric drill, etc. Current is supplied by a special 34-kw. dynamo driven from a special fake-off, A small, but neat, arrangement is the detail of the ben operation. On the near side of the body, forward of the door, is a shaft which, having a lever at each end, projects from the interior. That at the outer end is in the form of a leaf-spring, at the free end of which is the hammer-head, inside the mouth of the bell. • The ladder carried on the roof is telescopic, and extends to 35 ft.

Behind the main body bulkhead is a hydraulic hose-reel, carrying 180 ft. of first-aid hose; this is fed by a special pump from a 40-gallon tank. The hose. reel is mounted transversely, and the hose is run out through the main entrance, which is at the rear.

Two longitudinal seats, giving accommodation for eight to 10' men, form lockers for the equipment; access to these is obtainable by way of hinged dopes in the body sides. In addition to four sets of breathing apparatus, there are oxygen resuscitating equipment and a portable oxy-acetylene cutting plant.
