Mr. N. M. Cockshutt, general manager of the South African organization of Leyland Motors, Ltd., has been elected an associate of the Institute of Transport.

An influential committee has been appointed to make the arrangements for paying a suitable tribute to Major Robert Bruce, to mark the outstanding success of the engineering services rendered by him in connection with the reconstruction and improvement of the great trunk roads from Perth to Inverness and from Glasgow to Inverness.
Mr. Rowland C. Moore has been appointed traffic superintendent of the passenger-transport undertaking of Liverpool Corporation. He gained much of his passenger-transport experience in the service of Sheffield Corporation, with which authority he had 15 y ears' service. After leaving Sheffield in 1929, he was traffic superintendent at Stockton-on-Tees, subsequently becoming assistant manager and traffic superintendent of the passenger-transport department of Hull Corporation, the position he now holds.
Mr. H. Bury, of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain), Ltd., has been transferred from Dublin to Glasgow, to take over the duties of Scottish manager, for the company, previously performed by Mr. S. Stanger, who recently resigned. Mr. Bury joined the Goodyear concern in April, 1926.
Mr. A. H. Pendree, who will take over Mr. Bury's position in Ireland, has been assistant branch manager of the company's western division since March, 1934. He joined the Goodyear concern in October, 1929.
The Minister of Transport has appointed Mr. James J. Hughes for the remaining period of three years, from February 1, 1934, as a member, representative of trading interests, of the Transport Advisory Council, to fill the
