used truck this week is a 2008-registered Renault Premium 26-tonne 6x2 rigid boxvan.
It is a Euro-5 370 DXi fitted with a ZF 16-speed manual gearbox. On the tag-axle chassis is a 8.5m box body, with a roller-shutter door and a 1,500kg column tail-lift.
The sleeper cab has an electric pack, air-con and night heater. The truck is being sold by Allports Truck Centre, which has sites at Lichfield and Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire.
The 26-tonner is a popular vehicle and strong demand has resulted in good residual values. More operators are increasing their operational GVVVs to enhance their delivery options, allowing them to cover more eventualities. Likewise, dealers have been falling over themselves to try and bring in decent 26-tonners from the rental market or direct from operators.
Many hire firms and hauliers have been tempted to make good on the RV and sell, especially with Euro-6 coming up.
