• Ray Smith is re-equipping 200 trucks in British Gas's fleet with Airswop demount systems, tail lifts and VBG tow hitches.

This will give BG greater operating efficiencies by allowing various van bodies to be moved between two chassis types.

With trailers it will be possible to move pairs of standard 16ft (4.88m) boxes between depots around the country.

ZI Ray Smith has developed a 300kg single-post tail-lift for vans which stows away behind the doors when not in use.
