13-21, is the fourth event of its kind organised by our contemporary 'FIR'. The exhibition combines a unique mix of vintage and veteran commercials with 'Supertrucks' and current models from practically all major European manufacturers. As a valuable complementary show to the Geneva exhibition the Lucerne event is being supported by the Swiss importers of light and heavy commercial vehicles who value its contribution towards better understanding of road transport's role in to-day's society. A large section of the exhibition is devoted this year to Australian road transport practice with the centrepiece being provided by a 46m long 'road train' hauled by an Oshkosh tractor. This is believed to be the first time a combination of this kind has been seen in Europe. British participants at 'Truck 87' include Dave Millar with a lavishly equipped Scania already seen at our own Peterborough Truckfest, and two vintage steamers. They are a 1926 Foden timber tractor owned by Roy Swain, and a 1935 Sentinel eight-wheeler.
