ROLLING Transport Systems Ltd of Guildford has been appointed sole licencees for the manufacture and marketing of the American Up-a-Deck System in Britain.

The Up-a-Deck System provides a second floor-level for vehicles. Each 2.4 x 1.2m (8ft x 4ft) section can be set at different heights and carry a loading of up to one ton, and when not in use the decks are stored at roof level.

The hoisting and locking mechanism is fully recessed into the wall of the vehicle to give maximum clearance for goods.

The system can be fitted to all types and sizes of freight vehicles and is particularly valuable for the transport of non-stackable items as diverse as general parcel traffic, furniture, plant and automative components.

The cost of installation on a 40ft x 8ft trailer is less than E5 a day on hire purchase or vehicle lease.
