Wells report

JOHN WELLS' report on ways and means of improving the haulage industry's efficiency and standards has received approval in principle from the Road Haulage Association national council. The report (CM, May 9) suggested the setting up of a road haulage register and the establishment of a commercial services company by the RHA.

Now a steering committee has been set up to consider how the recommendations of the Wells report can be implemented. Due to report to the next RHA council meeting on July 30, the committee consists of: K. A, Hatcher (RHA chairman), R. H. Farmer, P. H. R. Turner, R. •H. Heaton, H. Clarney and R. N. Ingram.
