A NEW board mill built at a cost of
£5m. by Colthrop Board and Paper Mills, Ltd., Thatcham, Berks—members of the Reed Group—is being served with transport 24 hours a day b Cropper and Colthrop Transport, Ltd., an associated company. Except where loads are collecCed in customers' own vehicles, Cropper and Colthrop Transport are handling the entire haulage work of the new mill.
The fleet comprises 89 A-licence vehicles, including 7-tonners, 10-12-ton articulated outfits and a high proportion of eight-wheelers. All maintenance is undertaken in the company's workshops at Thatcham. • Waste paper is collected from all over the country. A regular job is to collect pulp from lighters at Kingston. Finished' products are distributed by the fleet 363

Cropper and Colthrop Transport had their origin in Thatcham Road Transport Service, Ltd.. founded in 1919 b.y Mr. S. 3. Ashman, managing .director.of the present company. The business was nationalized in .1948. and, became a depot of British Road , Services.. The depot and its fleet were bought complete from B.R.S..,in 1954 by Cropper and Co., Ltd. ..The
