FOLLOWING the refusal of the Metropolitan Licensing Authority to allow Northern Roadways, Ltd., to tun extra coaches on the Glasgow-London and Edinburgh-London routes, the company is consulting its legal advisors concerning future action.
The primary application to operate the additional vehicles was approved by the Scottish Licensing Authority, but the Metropolitan Licensing Authority thought that as the company's licence was the subject of a revocation order, it would be wrong to make a change.
The application of Scottish Omnibuses, Ltd., to operate extra coaches on the Glasgow-London and EdinburghLondon routes at specified summer peaks has been refused by the Scottish Licensing Authority. To absorb the heavy traffic at these periods, bigger vehicles are to be used. Ten new coaches have recently been deliveret.: and are being put into service NORTH LONDON COACH STATION
THE Ministry of Transport is making efforts to find a site for a permanent coach station in North London. The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry last week invited Sir Wavell Wakefield to give details of the possibilities of using a site beside St. Marylebone railway station.
