Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders in compiling the register of tyre traders when the National Association of Tyre Specialists had its general meeting last week. In many cases, it was stated, reasons given for deletion from the register were "invalid and ill-founded."
Inspections of premises, said members, had been unauthorized and probably inadequate. It was evident that much work would have to be undertaken by the Association in connection with the register and strong and vigorous action would have to be taken.
It was proposed to establish a fighting fund, which would be used solely to back up the Association's efforts to assist its members in difficulties with the register,
