Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Transcove Systems of Ryarsh, Kent has become UK agent for the American Donovan range of sheeting systems.

Two versions are offered: a hinged cover for muckaway work and a simpler roll-back sheet for sand and aggregates.

The 7000GL (ground level) system, launched on a Foden 3335 8x4 with Thompson Muckavvay Edbro tipping body, is suitable for lengths up, to 30ft (9.15m). It comprises a singlehoop frame fitted over the body and attached to coil springs at the mid-way point.

One end of the cover is attached to the hoop cross bar, the other to a roller in the body scow end. When extended to cover the load the frame rests in stop brackets and a safety brake locks it in place.

For loading or tipping off the sheet and frame are pulled to the front using a simple hand crank in the front corner upright. This tensions the two coil springs at each end of the frame. When loaded and ready for the road the brake lever behind the crank is released and the frame springs to the rear, laying the cover over the body contents until the arms drop into the stop brackets.

Transcover's SR (spring release) system is designed for skips or aggregate work. It pulls out from its top rail roller over the back by a hand rope and is secured by hooking it behind two large brackets on the tailgate.

Three grades of cover are offered: standard vinyl mesh, heavier-duty sheeting, and Donoprene for heat retention on asphalt work. Prices range from £535 for the skip model to £878 for the 7000GL cover (which weighs no more than 60kg and takes about a day to fit).
