• Brands Hatch will host the Mobil Truck Superprix on 1516 April. A record entry of over 60 teams will contest this first event of the 1989 season, which is also the opening round of the Europa Truck Cup Series and the Don British Open Truck Racing Drivers Championship.
Last year's Superprix winner, Slim Borgudd, will be up against reigning European champion Curt Goransson and at least a dozen American supertrucks. A wall-of-death spectacular, funfair, marching bands and custom truck display will be among the supporting events: racing will start at 2pm on the Saturday and 10am on Sunday. Tickets will cost £6 (Saturday) and £7 (Sunday); children under 16 go in free.
