• The Autoguide navigation system is causing concern at the Association of Metropolitan Authorities. It says local authorities should be involved in licensing Autoguide; that the pilot scheme in London should be assessed before further projects go ahead, and that arrangements should be agreed between Autoguide operators and highway authorities on the transfer of information.
"The Minister (Paul Channon) has been extremely reluctant to accept any of the issues of concern to the Association," it says.
