• Bunzl increased pre-tax profits by 9% from 285.7 to a record 293.3 million in 1988. Turnover jumped 19% from 21.47 billion to 21.75 billion.
Rockwood merger -• Rockwood Holdings has merged three of its companies — Bond's Delivery Service, Rockwood Distribution Services and BVS International — to form a new organisation called Rockwood Distribution. The parent company says the move will lower costs and strengthen services.
Curtains from BRS • A four-year 2176,000 contract has been signed between glass manufacturer Efco and BRS Southern. BRS will supply two 7.5tonne Leyland Daf Roadrunners fitted with curtain sides and roof to allow vertical loading.
