Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ISUZU Ireland is a newly established subsidiary of J. Harris (Assemblers), the company which assembles Hino lorries in Dublin which has begun to assemble the lsuzu NPR six tonne gvw two axle rigid from completely knocked down kits.

Harris has also begun to sell lighter models in the lsuzu range in Ireland including the KB pick-up, WFR van and NHR three and 3.5 tonner, though at present all these models are imported from Japan in completely built up form.

Joe Hutchinson, Harris's sales manager, told CM that depending on the sales of the NPR, assembly of the NHR models may start in the future in Ireland, but there were no plans as yet for Dublin-built WFRs or KBs.

Neither are there any plans to export any Irish-built Isuzus to the UK, through HCV of Warrington, which currently sells Hinos here.

Harris expects to assemble about 1,000 NPRs this year and will be displaying all the lsuzu models it sells, including Trooper 4x4s, for the first time at the Dublin Spring Show on the first weekend in May.

lsuzu is about 40 per cent owned by General Motors, Bedford's parent corporation, and the Harris appointment as lsuzu concessionaire will lead to some interesting competition in Ireland between the two GM companies.

Bedford plans to begin selling its Midi van and minibus range there "very soon".

The Luton built Midi is a modified WFR, and though 60 per cent of it (by value) is EEC sourced, the engines and gearboxes come from the same Japanese factory that supplies Harris.
