New engineers for growing Trailerent

EXPANSION at Trailerent and the company's new division Truckrent has resulted in two new appointments. John Rice has been promoted to the position of fleet engineer for Truckrent and Phil Baker now takes over as Trailerent's fleet engineer.

Both have been working within the Trailerent operation for some time and their areas of operation will involve all technical matters related to both companies, together with purchasing, specifying and controlling company maintenance for trailers and trucks respectively. They will be based at Trailerent/Truckrent headquarters at Staines. CLIFF WILSON, who owns an international haulage company Wilsons Transport in Boroughbridge, Yorkshire, has become vice-chairman of the Road Haulage Association's international group committee following the resignation of MIKE SWEETING of Copenhagen Transport. Mr Sweating resigned for business reasons.

Mr Wilson is one of two vicechairmen, the other being Duncan Barbour from Barbour European in Stirling.

Ian Rycroft, of EC Transport (Winbourne), has joined the group's committee.
