Metropolitan Area traffic examiner Bertram Bradford told the court that he had visited Courinos at the Royal Hotel and issued an observation note, informing him that he needed a psv licence for the coach and a road service licence for the service to Athens.
Mr Courinos denied that he operated an express service, and had told Mr Bradford that the coach was used to bring in Greek businessmen to inspect machinery they were likely to buy. This machinery would then be exported to Greece, which, said Mr Courinos, was Euro-Inter's main business.
The court decided that the evidence showed that EuroInter had operated an express service on May 9 and June 6 last year, on each occasion without a psv licence or road service licence.
Taking into consideration two similar previous charges before Clerkenwell Magistrates Court, Mr Courinos was fined £100 on each of the four charges. He was also ordered to pay costs of £75.
