• Unless action is taken to counter hooliganism TGWU members, who say coaches have been damaged and some conductors even attacked, may refuse to take out Newcastle upon Tyne school buses in future. One driver took his bus to a police station because of rowdyism.
Two schools have been named as particularly bad but the headmaster of one of them claims that incidents, which he admits took place, have been exaggerated. Now Tyneside PTE is to submit a report to Newcastle education committee.
