j,k CONTROLLED system for lubri1—k eating the camshaft and other parts of a fuel-injection pump with leakage fuel is shown in patent No. 881,546. (Simms Motor Units, Ltd., Oak Lane.' London, N.2, and others.)

During the running of the pump, a certain quantity of fuel leaks past the plunger into a chamber (1). From here it descends into the camshaft chamber. partly through the tappet guides and partly through drilled passages (2).

Once in the camshaft chamber, the fuel is flung by the rotation along a tangential passage (3), whence it is led to the outflow pipe (4). The proportions are so arranged that the quantity, of oil remaining in the pump is approximately. constant. The system can be applied to a pump having the camshaft rotating in the opposite direction to that shown.
