Mr. M. Darbyshire, district road motor engineer, British Railways, London Midland Region, has retired.

Mr. J. H. Farrow has resigned from the sales staff of Oswald Tillotson, Ltd., Bradford. to represent Carrimore Six Wheelers, Ltd., in Lancashire and Cheshire.

Mr. H. Dermo, sales director of W. P. Butterfield (Engineers), Ltd., Shipley, Yorks, is retiring at the end of this month. His executive duties are to be taken over by Mr. E. V. Lewis.

Mr. E. J. B. Timlin has been appointed director of sales of The British Aluminium Company. Ltd., with effect from April 1. He has been sales manager of the Imperial Aluminium Co., Ltd., since 1959. Mr. J. A. R. Jackson, of Leyland Motors, Ltd., Mr. C. D. E. Skinner, of Lucas Industrial Equipment, Ltd., and Mr. R. Timothy, of Fisher and Ludlow, Ltd., are among members of a trade mission sponsored by the London and Birmingham Chambers of Commerce which will spend three weeks in Japan next month. The mission, which will also visit Hong Kong, will be led by Lord Kilmarnock.

Mr. J. G. WooIlan has been appointed manager of Anglo Continental Container Services (London), Ltd., and Anglo Continental Container Services (Belfast), Ltd. Mr. C. N. Bourne has been appointed accountant and secretary and both will continue to be executive directors of the companies. Both appointments will take effect on April 6 and, as from that date, Mr. C. V. Blows and Mr. F. E. A. Taylor relinquish their directorships of the companies and retire from the A.C.C.S. service. Mr. J. Henderson, foundry general manager of Hepworth and Grandage, Ltd., has been elected to the board of the company.

Councillor Dr. S. J. Hepworth, chairman of Southport Corporation's Transport Committee, is to be the town's next Mayor.

Mr. E. G. Leeson has been appointed manager of the Commercial Storage Equipment department of MasseyFerguson-Butler.

Mr. K. N. Gravill has been appointed managing director of Chamberlain Plant, Ltd., the plant hire company and manufacturers of the " Staffa " Super-4 mobile crane.

Mr, H. C. MeCrostie, director and chief secretary of the Scottish Omnibuses Group since 1934, retires tomorrow. He will be succeeded by Mr. T. Irvine Kinky, who has been assistant secretary since August, 1953.

Mr. P. P. Griffith-Jones, zone manager for A.E.C.'s export division covering Australia and the Far East, has been appointed manager of the newly formed joint zone which now embraces the Continent of Africa. • Mr. A. E. Searle has been elected chairman of the London Division of the Industrial Transport Association for 1962.

Mr. M. J. Crawford has announced his retirement as managing director of the Wayne Tank and Pump Co., Ltd. He remains chairman of the board. Mr. R. G. Redgwell succeeds him as managing director and Mr. N. L. Harms, a president of Symington Wayne International, Ltd. (U.S.A.) has been elected to the board.
