The AC-Sphinx Sparking Plug Co., Ltd., announces the forthcoming transfer of some of its manufacturing activities from old factories in Birmingham to an entirely new plant now in course of erection at Dunstable, The increase in the production of AC plugs, coupled with the manufacture of new products, such as fuel pumps, oil filters, gauges, etc., has made the provision of additional manufacturing facilities essential.
A 24-acre plot at Dunstable has been purchased, it being on the main London-Coventry road. The first part of the new factory will provide a floor area of about 50,000 sq. ft. and employment for about 400 workpeople.
