A FLEXIBLE FRIEND • Rigid-framed freight containers, which can be folded down for stacking, are now available from Compacto Containers. The compactos can be bought or leased and are offered in four sizes ranging from 1.20m3 to 6.88m3.

For information contact: Compacto Containers, Unit 18, Staines Central Trading Estate, Staines, Middlesex, TW18 4UX, or phone (0784) 50890.

WEIGHING IT UP • Central Weighing has launched its low-profile electronic vehicle weighpads for fleet operators and haulage contractors who cannot use a permanent weighbridge.

Called Cheklode, the equipment is battery-operated and only requires infrequent charging on any 12V, 110V or 240V power. The aluminium scales are capable of measuring weights up to 20 tonnes per axle with a claimed accuracy of +/-1% and can be linked up to provide gross axle weights. The price of the Cheklode starts at £1,795.

For details contact: Central Weighing, Unit 25, Hartlebury Trading Estate, Kidderminster, Worcestershire DY10 4JB, or phone (0299) 251242.
