that the! may well be considerable behind-the-scenes discord amongst TGWU officials, and certainly the advice offered to owner-drivers is of a conflicting nature. It is however, my feeling that t RHA would be delighted ti accept a membership application from the major of owner-drivers.
Indeed all owner-driven even those for whom it would mean dual membership with the RHP should consider an immediate application in view of the RHA's recent decision temporarily to waive the entrance fee. TI cost of membership to a one-vehicle owner-driver i only E26 a year.
There is no better time than the present for exploi the possibility of some linl however tenuous, betwee the BAOD and the RHA. 11 one doubts the need for BAOD but its relevance ar the strength of its potenti, lobby must be seen in the right perspective.
For the good of the hirc and reward sector of the industry, the RHA must continue to be the largest and most representative body and, therefore, one would hope that firm link: may be established betwt the two organisations without in any way detracting from the efficiency or standing of either.
